I play the piano. With the Christmas season here, I've
started practicing Christmas songs. I love every year when December rolls
around and I get the opportunity to start playing Joy to the World, Silent
Night, Away in a Manger, and others. I love the happiness and peace in each of
these songs, which remind me of the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus Christ.

The Season of Spiritual Gift Giving!
On Sunday, I had the chance to teach the 12-13 year old youth
group about spiritual gifts given to us from our Heavenly Father. For those who
don't know or quite understand what spiritual gifts are, I think the lesson plan
I was given best explains it. "Spiritual gifts are blessings or abilities
given by the power of the Holy Ghost. As children of Heavenly Father, we all
have spiritual gifts. God gives us these gifts so that we can serve
others."

Erin's Thankful List!
I thought it would be
appropriate to write a post parallel to what is being celebrated this week:
Thanksgiving. A tradition in my family is that on Thanksgiving evening, we all
hold hands and say ten things we are thankful for. I want to share my thankful
list!

What do you do at church?
People often ask me what I do at church and how do I cope with three hours of it! This video should answer both questions about what I do at church and why it is so long!
We attend church once a week every Sunday. If you want to learn about what else Mormon youth do on Sunday, check out the post "What do you do on Sunday?"!

Mormonad of the Week (11/10): Feeling Sour?
I like this Mormonad because it shows how a bad attitude can make someone look unappealing to others. Nobody wants to be around negative energy and we should try to lift others up and say kind words. Doctrine Covenants 133:52 reads:
What do you do on Sunday?
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:"
I get asked a lot "What do you do on Sundays?" The answer is simple: I relax and seek to feel closer to God.
